It’s time for our annual PINK Belt fundraiser!
TWO GREAT CAUSES IN ONE EVENT!
Monies raised will go to Wishing for Mommy and the H.U. Lee Scholarship Fund.
WHAT IS WISHING FOR MOMMY?
Managed by Dignity Kids, Inc. a nonprofit organization based out of Arizona, the Wishing for Mommy initiative aims to empower children in being able to write out their feelings while they are experiencing a [typically] difficult time within their household. In order to apply for a Wishing for Mommy grant, a loving relative or best friend is required to write out a one-page story of what their wish is for their mommy (what they would do for her to help her through her battle with breast cancer if they were given the $500 to do so) since often a child or loved ones feel like they are “helpless to improve the circumstances”. Sometimes using the money to pay bills that are mounting, or bring in a loved one to assist the family or take a mini-vacation so that the family can spend quality time together.
WHAT IS THE H.U. LEE SCHOLARSHIP FUND?
“For years and years, my father gave selflessly to those in need across the world. Now it is our turn to give back in the name of our Eternal Grand Master, the late Haeng Ung Lee. Through his motto, “Today Not Possible, Tomorrow Possible” he taught us to embrace and seize the future with faith, hope and tenacity to see our dreams come to fruition.” – L. Taekwon Lee
